Journal
of the eightysixth day on board
27th July, 1999
Yesterday
we took apart all the equipment that we had on board the Alicudi
for the expedition. The time it took: 28 hours. The level of
the boat in the water has visibly dropped. The boat seems to
have risen from the surface.
For
a few hours now the Alicudi has left Lampedusa heading towards
Arbatax. We will travel non-stop. The sea is finally calm and
along our course appear on the surface the bubbles of fish and
the outline of turtles. They also, after many days of rough
sea, seem to bathe in the tranquillity of long awaited dead
calm
.
Tomorrow my best wishes…. And my goodbye!
