Journal
of the fortyfourth day on board
15th June, 1999
Northwest
wind, force 6. Life at port. On the high sea, a few metres from
our bows, we are alternately swinging then stopping fast.
We take the opportunity to talk with the Maltese fishermen and
to go over the equipment: the sea knows it’s the master of its
own demanding domain and obliges us to undertake continuous
maintenance.
Look
at these men. Their faces tell you anything?
He is on the motorboat, you don't see much, his face is not
famous, but his name is well known in the field.
In what field?
In that of sharks obviously, well those passionate for the animals.
He's called Jon, 36 years old, Maltese, single, friendly and
a little innocent.
Jon is the guardian of something very precious.
Tomorrow we will know more.
