Journal
of the fortieth day on board
11th June, 1999
The
hull of the Alicudi has a round keel, which rides the sea really
well, but tends to make us roll and pitch as if we were on a
merry-go-around. It is difficult to walk and remain seated,
read and write, eat and sleep.
It's been
like that from yesterday until sunset.
We're not
seeing anything and were suffering a little. Let's be patient.
Tonight will be better. We're not rolling or pitching, at least
in the port. Yes, because at Valletta we will be doing the 'biologist
swap': Simona Clo’
will be getting off and Marco
Costantini climbing aboard.
