Journal
of the thirtyfourth day on board
5th June, 1999
Have
you ever seen Siracusa from the sea?
It is a fabulous sight. Unfortunately we arrived as the sun
was setting and we stayed just one night.
The Coast Guard has been efficient and always ready for us.
Thanks to their help we have been able to take equipment as
well as researchers on and off while remaining at sea and without
interrupting the pasturing of the sea.
The only regret has been not enjoying Siracusa.
The pasturing was interrupted for around 33 hours but we didn't
see anything.
In the evening we disembarked at Marzamemi, the most southerly
tourist port of Italy, where you can still see sail boats constructed
by hand.
